Image
Some days we come home happy and fulfilled, other days we wonder who played the devil's advocate. We are glad when we are able to meet deadlines and carry out assigned task. Our self-worth may be affected by consistent inability to meet deadlines. It is therefore imperative that we learn how to manage each day.  Below are tips for creating a productive day;        Begin the day with meditation           Make use of a to-do-list        Take short breaks for progress review during the day         End the day with reflection           Associate with productive people Begin the day with meditation It is always helpful to start the day with thinking about what gives your life meaning. Peace and rest of mind come with a daily meditation over things that give you perspective and form your values. This could be studying a holy book or praying. More so, meditation creates time for one to conceptualize goals and activities for the day. It is these goals that provide one w

FIVE WAYS TO OVERCOME INDECISION

Choose NOW. (picture from pixabay free stock photos) Choice making scenario [background] Most of us are familiar with the helplessness of having to choose from many options. At those times, we realize how the presence of so many options create confusions and disables our ability to act. For example, a lady has to choose just one dinner gown from a classic boutique. She feels bedeviled by the very many well-made gowns so she keeps fondling one gown to the other for the next three hours. A fresh graduate gets employment offers from four different companies, one a university, the other a pharmaceutical company, the next at the embassy and the last at the multinational engineering company. How does he choose from this plethora of options? You see, the very presence of choice has almost become a curse. (source: pixabay free stock photos) Why is choice making difficult? The irreversibility of choice situation make choosing difficult and dreadful. We realize that ju

7 WAYS OF DEVELOPING AN INTELLECTUAL MIND

Image
Some of us are tired of being tagged ‘not intellectual’ and of being lost during intellectual discussions. It can feel quite bad and may reduce self-esteem. The truth however is that we all have good brains – it just needs a little conscious work. It must not be your academic work, it could just be a video explaining something that interests you. These clips are usually short, and take same data as comedy clips, music videos and celebrity chats. Now, it doesn’t mean you should stop your usual videos, rather you should include tutorial videos to your playlist   3.        Thinking: most people never bot

Man aspires for greatness and tries to attain it. He seeks to associate and be associated with lofty things. He will put all his efforts to be recognized. On the other hand, things deemed little and of less honorable value do not get his attention. However history has proven that most times the little unrecognized tasks are the necessary frame work for large complex systems. It is the basic part of a system however simple and dishonorable, that make up the complex and honorable system. The human body for example and all other biological systems consist of the cell which when compared with the entirety of the body is not spectacular. The amazing world of computers wouldn’t have been real without the unimpressive and lone-standing 1s and 0s. The lesson to be drawn for us in the African context is that we have to go back to the basics of all the endeavors we trade. Somehow, in our bid to catch up with the developed world, we have jumped the basics and have held on to the

The fourth edition of the entrepreneurs' breakfast happened on the 22nd of September. Value Creation for Start-ups was not a bad theme to discuss. Guests enjoyed the breakfast and had a lot to think about for weeks to come. We are glad for the professionalism of Victor Emaye, the guest facilitator. All thanks to the diligence of the kitchen crew - what is a breakfast without well made dishes. Special thanks to Dami, Eunice, Tani, Ope, Mabel and Victoria for ever helping with the logistics. I found a new friend in Adedeji, thanks brother for being there. The Jesus Corpers' at Akungba remain a strong support for EBF, you guys are the best. Special thanks to enactus and all my other friends that sat in EBF-AAUA 1.40. See us all come October 20, for edition 1.50. You can't miss Tourism Business Potential . You can register immediately at bit.ly/breakfastAAUA. Catch you then. Ever me, Nedu Eze
