HOW TO HAVE A PRODUCTIVE DAY

Some days we come home happy and fulfilled, other days we wonder who played the devil's advocate. We are glad when we are able to meet deadlines and carry out assigned task. Our self-worth may be affected by consistent inability to meet deadlines. It is therefore imperative that we learn how to manage each day.
 Below are tips for creating a productive day;
  •        Begin the day with meditation
  •        Make use of a to-do-list
  •        Take short breaks for progress review during the day
  •         End the day with reflection
  •         Associate with productive people

Begin the day with meditation
It is always helpful to start the day with thinking about what gives your life meaning. Peace and rest of mind come with a daily meditation over things that give you perspective and form your values. This could be studying a holy book or praying. More so, meditation creates time for one to conceptualize goals and activities for the day. It is these goals that provide one with direction and energy throughout the day.

Make use of a to-do-list
With the list of activities scheduled for the day one is able to move from one activity to the next. It also helps one to fight distractions. Usually, we forget what our next task is after hours of immersion in an activity. To-do-list is a simple way to keep our bearing.

Take short breaks for progress review during the day
The difference between a productive day and a non-productive and yet busy day may just line in short review breaks. When we take evaluative recesses we are able to pin point the direction of our day and how effective the things we are currently doing are. We then can weed out unnecessary and time consuming activities.

Associate with productive people
Productive people think about personal effectiveness. They do not walk about aimlessly, they devise means to achieve their goals. Associating with them therefore will help you pick up their habits and keep you goal oriented. On the other hand, slothful people drag one down to slothfulness.

End the day with reflection
After the day is gone, it is helpful to evaluate our actions and inactions. Evaluation helps us to identify things we did wrong and things that boasted our productivity. With reflection each new day is an improvement on the preceding day.

When next you are thinking about having a productive day, apply the five steps above and you will be surprised how much joyful you will be and you will have a great leap in your self-worth.
